1. Official Media

4 media professionals and 1 press liaison officer per country will be accredited as Official Press for the XI BRICS Summit in Brasília. The composition of the Official Press Team will be at the discretion of each delegation.

The respective Diplomatic Mission in Brasília must request the accreditation for the Official Press Team from September 23 to November 1, 2019. The request shall be made by means of a Note Verbale and shall contain the following information: (i) full name; (ii) passport information (number, issuance date, expiration date); (iii) position (reporter, cinematographer, photographer or technician); (iv) work and personal e-mails; (v) WhatsApp phone number; and (vi) home address in the country of origin.

The e-mail shall include the subject “XI BRICS Summit – Official Press Accreditation” and have the files of the following documents attached: (i) a 3x4 photo of each person, on a white background, JPEG format up to 1MB in size; (ii) copies of the pages of the passport with photo, number of the passport and required visa (if necessary); and (iii) copy of the Note Verbale. Requests for accreditation that do not fulfill the requirements above will not be granted. Any inquiries regarding accreditation shall be forwarded to the Press Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: phone number (+55 61) 2030-8006 or by email at “This email address is being protected from spambots. Credentials will be delivered to the Diplomatic Missions from November 4 to November 8 at Planalto Palace. In order to receive the accreditation, the member of the Diplomatic Mission must show (i) their photo ID or valid passport; (ii) letter of the Diplomatic Representation, authorizing him/her to receive the accreditation and (iii) copy of the Note Verbale. Accreditations will not be delivered without the aforementioned documents. 

 

The accreditation will allow for access to the venue of XI BRICS Summit at Itamaraty Palace and to the BRICS Business Forum on November 13 at Centro Internacional de Convenções do Brasil (CICB). 

 

2. Foreign Private Media

Private media nonresident in Brazil must request accreditation to XI BRICS Summit and the BRICS Business Forum directly to the Presidency of the Republic, by filing the form available at http://www.brazil.gov.br/government/press-office, from September 23 to November 1, 2019. Even if the media professional is already accredited to the Planalto Palace or Itamaraty, he/she will have to request a specific accreditation for the BRICS and BRICS Business Forum. 

Due to security reasons and space limitation, the number of media professionals effectively attending the Summit will be limited. Details can be found at the link above.

 

Any inquiries regarding private media accreditation shall be forwarded to the Division of Press Accreditation of the Planalto Palace: (+55 61) 3411-1249 / (+55 61) 3411-1269.

 

Credentials will be delivered by the Secretariat of Communication of the Presidency of the Republic (SECOM) from November 4 to November 8. In order to receive the credential, the following requirements should be met: (i) Photo ID or valid passport and (ii) letter, in letterhead paper, signed by the editor, authorizing the person (if a third person) to receive the credentials. Credentials will not be delivered without the aforementioned documents.

 

The accreditation, if granted, will allow for access to the venue of the XI BRICS Summit at Itamaraty Palace and to the BRICS Business Forum on November 13 at Centro Internacional de Convenções do Brasil (CICB).
